Video – How To Reset The Service Reminder Message – VT Commodore

Just serviced your VT Commodore and want to get rid of that pesky service reminder message? Here’s how to do it.

  1. Start with the ignition in the OFF position
  2. Hold down both the ‘up’ and ‘down’ arrow buttons on the trip computer
  3. Turn the ignition to the ON position while still holding both trip computer buttons down
  4. After approx. 3 seconds a chime will be heard, release both buttons
  5. Press the ‘Mode’ button – the service reminder screen should appear on the display
  6. Press and hold down both ‘up’ and ‘down’ arrow buttons again and after approx. 3 seconds another chime will be heard
  7. Release both buttons
  8. Turn the ignition to the OFF position
  9. All done!

  1. I have had this pesky alarm since my VT got it’s 200k service. Now it’s getting a little older I am doing the services myself but always wanted to know how to get rid of this annoying thing. This was the simplest thing I have aver done. Cheers.

  2. Hi Craig
Thanks for the tip, I have a question about the trip computer, don’t know since when, but now it’s always on, like you can see the mileage when car is off and without the key. It’s this normal, I feel like it’s dragging the battery. Also no lights on the air setting dials. I change the radio for touch screen one, you reckon it has something to do with it? Thanks.
