Hi,
Yeah, it sounds like one or both of the camshafts are not lined up and the valves are touching on the pistons causing the engine to lock up.

To fix this all you need to do is remove the timing belt (if u haven't already) and rotate the camshafts and crankshaft until the timing marks line up - you can see how these marks line up here (apologies for the small pictures, they are all I could get at the time) - http://autofix.com.au/blog/timing-belt-replacement-mitsubishi-30-v6

If either of the camshafts of the crankshaft 'locks up' while you are rotating them you may need to move any camshafts or the crankshaft that is already lined up off their mark a little bit so you can avoid valve to piston contact. Naturally any components that you do move off their mark to get everything lined up must be realigned before fitting the belt again.

Be sure to rotate the engine by hand again to ensure the valve timing is correct!

Hope that helps and if you need any more assistance please let me know.

Regards,
Craig

hi....today i tried to replace timing belt on my verada kr 1992. there are two issues.
one of camshaft seals which i repalced, is leaking after replaced....i guess i put it in too deep.

and once i replaced timing belt, i forgot to put back the metal disc bewteen crank shaft gear and pully.

but oh my god, i ve totally forgot line up with TDC...and just took out timing belts again.

because i want to pull out camshaft pully as well, that s why i pulled out timing belt.

after replaced the cam shaft pully and put back the metal disc, i turned engine with long ratchet by crank shaft. however, it can not be turned anymore after some degrees(may be within 180 degrees)...

i guess because i didnt line up when i pull out timing belt. \

plz help me, i am studying automotive. and i am oversea student. so without that car, even i can not go to work and college.

how can i line up again, once after i ruined tdc rule?\

i have no idea. thanks.
