Inside it?s a standard LT-1 small block.  In the USA, the LT-1 preceded the more recognisable LS-1 (as fitted to Australian Commodores) and has a cast-iron block and alloy heads (as opposed to the all-alloy format of the LS-1).  It?s power production is hardly earth shattering but, even straight out of the box, is specified around 350 Hp.
  
It?s not going to be a quarter-mile contender but that was never my intention?this Monaro was originally destined to be a show car and the engine was built with judgment points in mind rather than horse power.
