Hi,

My parents had a 1996 Peugeot that would stop suddenly for no reason. after driving the car for a few days the mechanics traced it back to a faulty water level sensor in the radiator. The worst bit was the $900 bill (including the $90 part). Even more frustrating as dad has been a mad keen restorer of old cars and knows his way around the spanners, just not these modern fandangle ones!!! haha.

Love the blog mate, keep it up.

Cheers, Tim.

Hi Tammy,
From my experiences these vehicles are not particularly prone to fuel problems, however I do remember a fuel injected Jackaroo having to be towed in to our workshop a few years back with similar 'symptoms' to what you described and it did end up being a fuel problem.
What we did with that vehicle was replace the fuel filter and put a bottle of Fuel Injector Cleaner in with the fuel and the problem disappeared. Although this is not a 'guaranteed' fix for potential fuel issues it is certainly the easiest (and cheapest!) place to start and if the problems do persist we will then have a better idea of where to look next.
