Helping a person out is fine, but you shouldn’t feel responsible for a timing belt snapping. Nobody owns a crystal ball.

As for the sub standard work carried out by a used car yard… well, that’s pretty much the norm for those grease monkys. Actually, I’d much rather employ a monkey, at least they are entertaining.

Over the years I’ve seen some horendous jobs where people have paid good money to have their cars damaged, not repaired.

I always question the mentality of those ‘mechanics’ who carry out work like that… surely the person cannot be normal!

Just remember, these people aren’t mechanics, they are basically overpaid labourers.
